The integral transom bracket angles up from the running surface, allowing better water flow across the propellers. three-blade props on the twin 300 hp Yamaha outboards lift this boat onto plane like a rocket launch -- even with a full livewell and 175 gallons of fuel.

At 30 mph, the vessel seemed to be standing still while the 300s sipped a mere 13 gph, equating to 2.3 mpg. Even at 40 mph, you can realize 2 mpg. Surprisingly, a fast cruise of 53 mph still only uses 35 gph. At a top speed (loaded, remember) of 68.1 mph, the 29 burned 60 gph, showing that this hull's power-to-weight ratio runs pretty efficiently, readily cruising at 2 mpg or better throughout much of the rpm range.

The 29 corners really well. It leans into turns and can actually turn faster than you might like with the engines trimmed down. Slow trolling and drifting in a beam sea, the 29 exhibits a moderate roll moment with quite gentle transitions.

FISHABILITY

The ability to fish effectively from a boat is not always a possibility, but the Yellowfin Offshore was made for being the perfect fishing vessel. Throughout the boat you will notice that there is a rod holder for every angle. Six gunwales are found at the transom of the vessel on the standard model along with three under each of the railings. These are the standard features and therefore are able to be fully customized to the needs of the customer. The recessed railings throughout the boat are another feature that the avid fisherman will appreciate. Instead of rising above the sides of the boat, the recessed railings enable you to fight harder for your catch without ultimately losing it due to the height of the railing. This fact alone will give the fisherman an edge on much of their competition without compromising the overall safety of walking throughout the Yellowfin 29 Offshore boats.

Storage is key anytime you decide to go for a fishing trip and live bait wells are truly essential. A 55-gallon pressurized bait well is found near the transom of the Yellowfin 29 Offshore to allow the bait to keep swimming and remain fresh for the fisherman. In addition to that feature, there is a 132-gallon macerated fish box onboard as well that will hold all the fish you can catch. Additional storage for equipment or overflow fish is available beneath the deck as is the access to the electrical features of the boat.

Manufacturer Provided Description

But while the 29 is undoubtedly smaller than her larger siblings in the Yellowfin lineup, she still features all of the proven innovations in design, construction, fit-and-finish that separate a Yellowfin from the others. She's a Yellowfin through and through and is a perfect light-tackle fishing platform, with plentiful storage areas, spacious livewells and unhindered 360-degree walk-around space.
